The Land Transport Authority said more buses are needed in most places especially between Suva and Nausori as a number of overcrowded buses have been seen on our roads.
This issue was raised by Fijivillage after noticing these buses are so overloaded buses that passengers are even standing on the doorstep of buses.
LTA's Spokesperson, Iliesa Sokia said bus operators need to act now.
When asked if bus operators can provide supplementary buses when one bus cannot accommodate all passengers in an area, the President of Fiji Bus Operators Association, Virendra Kewal said they can do this but their drivers are not coming back with the correct information.
Meanwhile, he has warned bus drivers not to allow passengers to stand on the doorstep of buses as this is dangerous.
