A Fiji Police Force Drug Training Officer said Fiji has become one of the main drug trafficking hubs in the Pacific.
While speaking to Lami High School students yesterday at the launch of the Crime Stoppers Scholastic program, Corporal Usaia Donu told the students that some of the most dangerous crimes committed against our women and children has been identified as a result of heavy drug use by perpetrators.
Donu told the students that they will never meet a successful drug addict or successful drug dealer.
He said their destiny has always been the Naboro prison, St Giles Psychiatric Hospital and Vatuwaqa cemetery.
He also warned students on the use of social networking sites as they can be trapped by the wrong people on the other side of the computer.
The Scholastic Crime Stoppers Program is a confidential reporting program against crime in schools and rewards successful tipsters that prevent and solve faculty crimes.
