Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is now urging each and every citizen to take seriously the impending disaster that will hit us from Tropical Cyclone Evan.
As part of his State of readiness message for Tropical Cyclone Evan the Prime Minister said that each and everyone is not to take lightly the warnings given by authorities and calling on people to secure their homes, businesses and properties.
Every Fijian he said must be prepared and not be complacent.
They must restrict their movements and refrain from unnecessary travel.
This also includes travelling out to sea.
Commodore Bainimarama further adds as this is the festive season most are to also consider cancelling social events and to act responsibly, as most would need a clear mind for what is bearing down on us.
He added that alcohol and yaqona drinking will not help the situation adding that family responsibilities should come first.
In his message the PM said he cannot stress enough how serious this is.
Every Fijian will be affected but we must take preventative steps now.
Commodore Bainimarama also reiterates that most need to remain calm and to be prepared.
