Teams in the Western Division are ready with water tanks, stand by generators, chainsaws and torches as Tropical Cyclone is expected to head towards Fiji by late Sunday.
Commissioner Western, Joeli Cawaki said as of this morning they have started to liaise with schools and have identified schools which are expected to be used as evacuation centers if the need arises.
Cawaki said all the briefings have been done with the authorities in various centers and they are ready to respond to people's needs.
He also stressed that those who live in flood prone areas and know that their homes will not be able to take the strong winds should call the authorities for assistance.
