Expect water cuts if Tropical Cyclone Evan passes over the Fiji group.
Water Authority of Fiji Acting General manager production Ilisoni Saladuadua said they are trying to minimise potential causes for disruptions by checking chemical stocks and fuel stores for stand by generators.
Saladuadua said they will be implementing a water conservation strategy to maximize its storage volumes and people may start experiencing low pressure from this.
According to Saladuadua if there are power disruptions, they have stand by generators installed at the major water facilities but are encouraging people to store water.
He added that water trucks are also being arranged and priority will be given to facilities such as hospitals and evacuation centres.
Meanwhile, Fiji Electricity Authority CEO, Hasmukh Patel said power will only be switched off when the cyclone will be at its peak over the group.
