The people of the Yavusa Vunivivi in Nausori village, Tailevu are waiting for the government's response regarding the return of their land which they claim is part of Nausori town.
Mosese Veremalumu who spoke on behalf of the Mataqali Nakuita and Nailago-bokola says one of their submissions is that they want to take back the piece of land which their forefathers leased out to the then Colonial Sugar Refining Company.
He said only portions of that land was returned to them when they made an application in 1999.
Commissioner Central Lt Col Laisenia Tuitubou said the landowners want the portion of the land classified as crown land to be converted to native land.
Another round of talks between the landowners, TLTB and the Lands Ministry is expected next month.
