Man Utd get crucial away goal

Manchester United will feel like they are in control of their last 16 tie against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League as the match ended 1-all this morning.

Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for the Red Devils.

In Cristiano Ronaldo’s first game against his old side, he leaped highest to glance the ball into the net before halftime to put the score 1-all.

After the break, Robin van Persie went close twice in quick succession as his shot hammered off the Madrid bar, before Xabi Alonso was able clear off the line from the Dutch striker’s follow-up.

United will now host Real Madrid on the 6th of next month at Old Trafford.

United has an advantage now as they have an away goal.

Meanwhile, in another game, Shakhtar Donetsk was held by German champion Dortmund 2-2 in Ukraine.
