The opening of the new ANZ stadium could be delayed.
The Fiji Sports Council had planned the new stadium will be ready by 31st March next year but work can get held up.
CEO, Litiana Loabuka said work at the stadium has been affected due to the shortage of cement.
Meanwhile, ANZ Pacific now has the naming rights of the stadium as they will provide $879,000 of sponsorship to the Fiji Sports Council for the next three years.
ANZ Pacific CEO, Vishnu Mohan today revealed they will also invest $200,000 in the branding of the stadium.
There is also good news for sporting federations planning to stage their tournaments at the new stadium as there will not be any increases in the rates when the new stadium opens.
The ANZ stadium will be on par with International standard sporting complexes around the World.
The new stadium will meet the requirements of International Rugby Board, FIFA and International Athletics Association which will enable Fiji to host televised international sporting events.
Meanwhile, ANZ has also provided a commercial loan of $17.5 million for the renovation and upgrade of the stadium guaranteed by the Government.
