34 cases of teenage pregnancies have been recorded for the first quarter of this year alone.
According to Social Welfare Minister Dr Jiko Luveni two of them are in the age group of less than 15 years while most of the young girls are between the ages of 16 to 18 years.
Dr. Luveni said women and youths in the rural areas are now engaged into awareness programs and the newly established Reproductive Health Unit has so far conducted more than 30 awareness programs covering villages in the Central, Northern and Western divisions.
