For the first time ever, the Vulaca Volleyball Championship will be organized by an association.
The tournament is usually hosted by the Fiji Volleyball Federation and now the Raiwai Volleyball Association takes up the challenge of organizing one of Fiji’s biggest volleyball tournaments.
Raiwai Volleyball Association President Francis Lanyon said the Federation has given them the privilege of hosting the tournament and there is no change in the format compared to last year.
Lanyon added the competition still remains a Fiji Volleyball Federation sanctioned tournament.
Meanwhile, 20 Mens and 10 Women’s teams will battle it out for the Vulaca trophy with defending men’s champions Suva fielding 4 teams.
The Vulaca Volleyball Championship will be held this Friday and Saturday with the winner walking away with $1000 while the losing finalist receives $500.
