The game went into extra-time after the two teams were locked at 14-all after full time.

NZ scored first in the fifth minute after some impressive defence by Fiji however Tim Mickelson broke away to score the try.

32 year old Tomasi Cama Junior scored NZ's second try after Ben Lam ripped through the Fijian defence.

NZ led Fiji 14-0 at half time.

The second half started with Red Rock captain, Jasa Veremalua scoring Fiji's first try and Ilai Tinai getting a crucial conversion taking the score to 14-7.

Tinai converted to lock the game at 14-all and taking it to sudden death.

During extra time, Tinai opted for a penalty however it went wide.
