All the health centers in Suva are closely monitoring cases of vomiting and diarrhea to prevent the spread of Noro virus.
This follows the report of 51 suspected cases of Noro virus in a cruise liner which berthed at the Kings’ wharf in Suva last week.
National Advisor for Communicable Disease Dr Mike Kama said the suspected passengers together with their families were quarantined while other passengers were allowed off the cruise liner.
The Noro virus can be prevented by using good hand hygiene and avoiding contact with sick individuals.
