Our quest for glory this weekend at the South Africa Sevens will become tougher as we are pooled with defending champion New Zealand, England and Scotland.
The last time Fiji played the All Blacks Sevens team in the pool games was at the Gold Coast Sevens last year.
In another pool of death, we have Dubai Sevens champion Samoa, South Africa, Australia and France.
Meanwhile, Digicel Fiji Sevens team coach Alifereti Dere said they fielded their second team during the Dubai Sevens as he looks to the future.
This is after Fiji was bundled out of the tournament in the Cup quarterfinals to France 8-5 and then later got thrashed by Wales 27-5 in the Plate semifinals.
Dere said there were a lot of differences in the side from the team that won in Australia which was the first team.
According to Dere, they have already selected three teams and that they have got a coaching plan in place ahead of the 2013 World Cup and 2016 Olympics.
He said that each team has targets and they missed their target in the Dubai Sevens where another team will come in for the third leg to amend the result.
The national Sevens coach said that he was also disappointed in the young side.
The South Africa Sevens kicks off this Saturday with Fiji facing England at 10:22pm then Scotland at 1:28am Sunday before meeting New Zealand at 5:52am Sunday.
Looking at the IRB World Sevens Series rankings, New Zealand is now leading with 38 points, Fiji, Kenya and Samoa are second with 32, while France is 5th with 27.
