Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has challenged the people of the Lomaiviti province to start looking at ways to lift their standard of living.

Speaking at the Lomaiviti festival this morning, Commodore Bainimarama said God has blessed us with land and the natural resources like the fishing ground, so they should make use of it.

He told the men and women of Lomaiviti to make strong decision by reducing their consumption of kava as it is one of the factors that reduces productivity.

He is pleased that the Lomaiviti people is focused on lifting the economic status of the province and supporting the developments in the villages.

He said Fiji is known in the market of yaqona and dalo farming which earns a lot of money and urged the villagers to take advantage of it.

Meanwhile the festival has a target of $100,000 to collect today from the various Tikinas.
