The Former Vice President has called on political parties to consider the conditions put forward by the Interim Prime Minister in order to take the country forward.
Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi while answering questions raised at the FIT Regional Forum on Reconciling Culture, Tradition, Science and Politics in Market Economies said the only way anyone will find out where Fiji is headed, is if political parties accept the conditions put forward in relation to the People's Charter and Electoral Reform.
Ratu Joni was asked by FIT's Dr Mahendra Reddy if the recent comments made by Commodore Frank Bainimarama stating Fiji will solve its own problems and will not need outside help are acceptable.
Ratu Joni replied that right now, no one knows what position the government has intended to take, since Bainimarama has made it clear that changes will take place before any steps towards elections takes place.
He added political parties at this stage have no choice but to accept these changes as Commodore Bainimarama has made it clear that the changes will have to be put in place first.
He added once political parties take this into consideration, then we will be able to get an indication as to how and what government has planned in terms of elections.
