The Health Ministry has the powers to stop people from gathering in places where people are found to be suffering from Typhoid.
The Health Spokesperson, Iliesa Tora said they advice people about the risk of social gatherings in villages where typhoid patients have been found and if the advice is still not taken into account then the Ministry will use its powers with the assistance of the police.
He said they issued the warning to the villagers of Natoika in Naitasiri where six people were found with Typhoid symptoms.
Tora said so far 44 people around the country are suffering from Typhoid and since it is a water borne disease, people have been urged to boil all drinking water to avoid getting the disease.
