Number Of Teams For Farebrother Cup May Increase

The Fiji Rugby Union may increase the number of teams competing in next year's Farebrother Sullivan Cup challenge.

This will be done to capture the interest of the minor unions after the Colonial Cup was scratched from the 2009 FRU calendar.

FRU's Vilikesa Rinavuaka said the board will meet next month to decide, as the number of teams that will be given the chance to challenge for the Farebrother Sullivan Cup next season.

He said some matches will also be double header clashes from the Digicel Cup.

In the current format only 7 teams Tailevu, Nadi, Nadroga, Suva, Naitasiri, Navosa and Lautoka challenged for the Farebrother Sullivan Cup.

Nadi are the holders of the Digicel Cup and Farebrother Sullivan Cup.
