Cyber security workshop launched
92 cases of cyber crime were reported to police from 2008 to last month.

Cyber Crime Investigation Unit detective Inspector Serupepeli Neiko said the cases include stalking people online and through mobile phone calls, social network sites, emails, hacking, distribution of pornography material, use of stolen credit card details for online transactions and unauthorized transfer of funds through internet banking.

Neiko said these cases are complex and there is a need to have specific laws to address it as it is generally covered under the Crimes Decree, the Telecommunications Act, the Telecommunications Promulgation and copyright laws.
