Namosi copper/gold mines expected to rake in $1 billion

The Lands Minister has confirmed that based on extensive surveys and research the Namosi Copper and Gold Mine area is expected to deliver an annual income of about $1 billion a year within the next few years.
Netani Sukanaivalu said they have now ascertained that the mine will be the largest in Fiji based on the indications of the copper and gold deposits found in the Namosi area.
He confirmed that all the land related issues have also been resolved and the mine is fully operational again.
Sukanaivalu said the returns from the Namosi and Vatukoula mines will be huge.
He said these huge returns from gold and copper is expected to flow into the economy within the next four to five years.
No injuries have been reported after a pilot and six other passengers were unharmed in the Yasawa Aerodrome incident that took place yesterday.
