The Commerce Commission of Fiji is now reviewing the prices of spare parts of vehicles.
Chairman Dr Mahendra Reddy said there is a high demand for spare parts in the country given the nature of income levels of households as more people buy second hand vehicles.
Meanwhile, shipping companies in the country have been asked to give the passenger fare listing, freight charges and other data to the Commerce Commission which has now started a detailed study into these issues.
The commission said at the moment there is no order to determine passenger fares and the only order they have is about freight charges.
He said while the freight charges have been fixed, the vessel operators have imposed charges like documentation fees, forklift charges and loading and offloading charges.
Both reviews will finish this year and a report will be forwarded to cabinet.
