Three proposed political parties have applied for re-registration prior to last weeks deadline.
Registrar of political parties Mere Vuniwaqa said she will publish the applications this week.
She will then wait for the 7 days objection period for the members of the public.
17 parties were registered under the old system.
The next step will also involve the winding up of any party that has not applied but may hold itself out to be a party.
