Three lives have been lost following two road accidents in the Western Division last night.
Two people died when a government and a private vehicle collided head on at Sovi Bay, in Sigatoka.
Police confirm the impact of the collision caused the government vehicle to tumble a couple of times before catching fire.
The passengers were removed prior to the fire and conveyed to the Sigatoka Hospital where the driver and the front seat passenger were pronounced dead on arrival.
The rest of the passengers were treated and sent home.
The driver of the private vehicle is currently in police custody.
Meanwhile, in another accident in the West, a man died after he was hit by a vehicle at Navutu Road, Lautoka.
The driver is now in police custody.
The road death toll currently stands at 24 compared to 26 for the same period last year.
