During this cold weather asthmatics should always carry their inhalers with them.
This is the message from CWM Hospital Intensive Care Unit Head, Dr. Vereniki Raiwalui who said the cold weather is one of the major triggers of asthma attacks in people.
He added dust from house or work places can also cause asthma attacks so asthmatics should always be cautious.
Raiwalui said in instances where people suffer from severe attacks they should always have their salbutamol or prescribed inhaler with them.
However, if it does not ease breathing than the person should immediately visit the nearest health center or hospital.
Meanwhile, 13 people have died so far this year due to asthma while 25 people lost their lives last year due to same reason.
