The Minister for Youth and Sports, Commander Viliame Naupoto could not control his emotions today while presenting scholarship awards to 51 needy students on behalf of Tulsi Tirath Mandir in Nadera.
Naupoto said that the children reminded him of his school days when he also faced problems in paying school fees.
The scholarships have been awarded by Tulsi Tirath Mandir of Nawanawa Road Nadera with the assistance of a few donors.
Mandir President, Rakesh Nambiar said they have been giving scholarships from the past 3 years and the number of students needing help has been increasing each year.
A father of three, Akariva Vula said his children attend primary school and it has been hard for him to send his children to school due to financial constraints.
