The Fiji Teachers Union has welcomed the decision made by the government on the students travelling free in school buses from next Wednesday.
General Secretary Agni Deo Singh said the decision has come at an appropriate time as there are many students who are not able to afford their bus fares and are preparing for their examinations.
Singh said they will now be able to attend school daily without facing any difficulties.
He also hopes that these will continue till next year.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Save the Children Fiji Chief Executive Officer Chandar Shekar who said the decision is a timely one adding that he hopes this will continue in the coming years as well.
