We cannot be monitoring motorists around the clock-LTA
The Land Transport Authority said that it cannot be monitoring motorists around the clock to ensure road safety.

That is the statement from CEO Naisa Tuinaceva in response to concerns raised by Fijivillage on the number of motorists speeding and overtaking at dangerous spots in the Suva to Nadi highway over the weekend.

Tuinaceva said that for the last two months they have been patrolling the dangerous areas of Suva to Ba where a lot of speeding takes place.

He said due to the operation, there have been no major accidents.

Director for Operations SSP Rusiate Tudravu said that they are working on strengthening their patrolling.

Tudravu said that Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua has raised this issue in their meeting today in which they are working with their Director of Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra.
