Close to two million tonnes of cane is expected to be produced this year which is more than last year.
Fiji Sugar Corporation Chairman Abdul Khan said they are expecting to produce about 180,000 tonnes of sugar.
He added that the cane production has improved from last year as most of the crops were damaged by Tropical Cyclone Evan last year.
