The local gay community will for the first time march against Homophobia and Transphobia in Suva on Thursday.
The main organisers of the march Jasmine Kuar of Oceania Pride, said they have been granted a permit.
She said that the gay community has been subjected to discrimination and stereotypical attitudes and even though they have been allowed to march, they are still anticipating a backlash.
Amongst those backing the March are the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre and The Emerging Leaders Forum Alumni.
The March will start at 5:30pm from the Flea Market to Sukuna Park.
