It was an emotional farewell as the Fiji Men’s and Women’s hockey teams presented their I Tatau to the Minister for Youth and Sports Commander Viliame Naupoto yesterday.
In addressing the players and officials, Naupoto told them to forget the fact that they are playing against top teams but to give their best in representing their country.
Fiji Men’s team captain Hector Smith Junior said they want to do their best for Fiji.
The Fiji Men’s and Women’s Hockey side departs for India this morning and both teams will play their first games next Monday against India and Japan respectively.
