Former Nausori Magistrate Sunil Kumar has been acquitted off the charges of allegedly trying to pervert the course of justice.
Kumar was charged with seven counts of allegedly trying to prevent the course of justice after it was alleged that he had tried to deter police officers in Nausori from booking anyone for any traffic offence in the Nausori area and allegedly making certain comments in open court.
However, after the hearing, Judge Justice Priyantha Nawana ruled that there is no evidence on any element of the offence against Kumar on four charges and found him not guilty on the remaining charges and acquitted him accordingly.
