A group of eleven children, who were in Namosi when the 5 yr-old boy was held hostage with an axe by a man, are still in shock and are having nightmares.
FijiVillage spoke to a Doctor, who was also part of the group of six families picnicking in Namosi and he said that the eleven children aged between five and nine years are still asking their parents whether or not the man had been arrested.
Doctor Mark Rudel said several of the children were unable to sleep last night and they would wake up in the middle of the night and ask questions in relation to the robbery.
According to Rudel, the trauma will stay with the children for the rest of their lives and recommended urgent counseling.
Meanwhile, the hunt continues for the man who threatened the 5 year old son of expatriate and demanded cash and other valuables from them.
The family was having a picnic in the interior of Namosi when a man appeared from the bushes and grabbed the 5 year old boy, threatened to kill him with an axe while demanded items from the family.
The family then gave the man $300 cash, two digital cameras and other valuables worth more than $2,200. The man then took the son and left him about 10 metres away from where the family was. He also left the axe with the boy.
