A 21 year old who suffered serious injuries after allegedly jumping off a moving vehicle in Dreketi last year passed away yesterday.
Labasa police are re-investigating the case.
The incident happened in August last year in Qaraniqoli in Dreketi.
The 21 year old was then admitted to Labasa Hospital and was later sent home.
She finally passed away on Monday in her village and police are investigating whether her death was related to the injuries she suffered from the incident.
Police had earlier charged the driver of the vehicle with a count of wrongful confinement and will be submitting the result of the new investigation to the DPP's office.
A post mortem will be conducted today.
