Passengers raise concern on E-ticketing
All passengers not being allowed to use the new E-ticketing machines in buses or not being issued electronic receipts can lodge a complaint with Land Transport Authority.

Fijivillage received calls from a few passengers raising concerns that when they present their E-cards, bus drivers however demand for cash payment saying the machines are not working.

Upon questioning if any monitoring system is in place, Land Transport Authority acting spokesperson Alfred Wiliame said buses that have these machines installed should be putting it to use allowing passengers to swipe cards and receive receipt of payment.

Also if any passenger is paying cash, they are still supposed to be issued with a electronic receipt through the machine.

Wiliame said those drivers who demand for cash payment while the E-machines are installed in their buses and working will be dealt with accordingly once a complaint is brought forward.

Meanwhile, those buses in the central division which still do not have these new machines installed have been given two weeks time to do so.
