Grandmother homeless after house fire
A 54-year-old grandmother and widow of Tacirua village is today without a home when it was burned to the ground early yesterday morning.

Sera Nave who also shared the corrugated home with her four grandchildren and her children said the fire destroyed everything they ever owned, leaving them with only the clothes on their back.

According to her daughter-in-law Romiliana whom the family is now living with, the children went back hoping to find some stationary they could use at school tomorrow yet everything was destroyed.


When Fijivillage visited the family this afternoon villagers were already dropping off clothes and food for the family.

Meanwhile, according to a National Fire Authority preliminary investigation a candle had caused the fire.
