The old water pipes and network has to go.
The Water Authority of Fiji is fully aware that the old water pipes which have been in Fiji for a very long time are not able to cater for high water pressure.
Chairman of the Water Authority John Prasad said the old pipes continue to give them problems so the old network has to go as the size of the pipes need to increase and be stronger to cater for more water.
Meanwhile, Prasad added that the Authority will have to use the best PVC pipes that can handle the pressure.
Most areas around the country have been experiencing intermittent water supply for quite some time now namely Wailoku, Cunningham, Davuilevu Housing, Delainavesi and high parts of Lami.
