The Interim Attorney General has today stressed that Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama never told media executives in a meeting earlier this week that they need to be pro-Bainimarama government.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said some misleading statements have been made that Commodore Bainimarama threatened the media executives to tow the government line.
However, this was not the case.
Sayed-Khaiyum who also attended the meeting said it needs to be stressed that media freedom is not under threat but the Fiji media should ensure that their stories are fair, accurate and balanced.
