CWM Hires 5 New Local Doctors

CWM Hires 5 New Local Doctors
For the first time ever we should have enough doctors on hand.

That is the assurance by the General Manager of the CWM Hospital Doctor Eloni Tora as five local doctors have been hired on a full time basis by the Ministry of Health and he has confirmed that all five should be at work by this week.

Dr Tora said while one doctor has already started work, the other four should be back from their leave and should resume work this week.

He added their main aim is to improve the streamline of patients at the Accident and Emergency Department which in the past has seen many patients waiting for hours as there was only one doctor available to see to patients.

Concerns had been raised on services provided at the CWM's Accident and Emergency Unit over the weekend.

A patient who chose to remain anonymous said he travelled all the way from Nausori as doctors referred him to the CWM to be admitted.

He said he had some complications and needed tests to be conducted so it was necessary for him to be admitted.

His loved ones brought him to the hospital around 9am however he was only able to see the doctors after 5pm.
