Police have confirmed they will not pursue investigations against the soldier who was in possession of a pistol in Suva on Friday night.
A senior police officer has confirmed to Fijivillage News that they have forwarded the matter to the military.
When Fijivillage News questioned the senior police officer, on whether it is illegal to carry a gun in public, the senior officer replied that it is now up to the military to decide.
However, Military Spokesperson, Major Neumi Leweni has only confirmed that the Officer was on duty at the time when police arrested him.
Police arrested the soldier with the gun last Friday and reported the matter to the Military Police where the man was taken in for questioning.
