The new Digicel Fiji 7s coach will be announced on Monday.
It has been confirmed that former coaches, Josateki Savou and Iliesa Tanivula did not attend the interviews that were held at Rugby House yesterday.
Fiji Rugby Union board Chairman, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga has confirmed this after having interviews with the applicants.
Apart from the announcement, one of the first assignments for the Board is to lay out an organizational structure for its office and staff, which will be in place before the new CEO is appointed.
It is understood that top coaches like Redrock’s Lote Rasiga, Waimanu club coach Sailosi Naiteqe, Rewa’s coach Watisoni Ratulevu, Iliesa Tanivula, former 7s captain Alifereti Dere and current coach Josateki Savou applied for the position.
Meanwhile, the board is tight lipped on the applicants that were interviewed.
The Australia 7s will be played in Gold Coast on the 25th and 26th of this month.
