Women in Fiji and around the Pacific can now learn how to paint and finish interiors in an all girls environment.
This is after the Training Productivity Authority of Fiji alongside the Australia Pacific Technical College put together a Painting and Decorating Certificate this year.
Trainer Michael Farrugia, said this is an excellent opportunity for the women in the pacific to learn a non-traditional trade.
Vanuatu Businesswoman Lynette Saurei, who has been in the building trade for a number of years said there is a real need for such trade in her home country and adds she took up the training despite opposition from her family back at home.
A total of 13 girls from around the Pacific are enrolled in this 40 week programme.
