Residents question safeness of water
Residents living around the Korovou areas have questioned whether the water supply at the Korovou Treatment Plant is safe to drink after cattle in the area were found with the disease Brucellosis.

Suva Water Supply spokesperson Maika Nagalu confirmed that people must not panic as the National Water Laboratory have done tests with the water safe to drink.

Nagalu said their experts at the Laboratory in Kinoya finds that the water is not affected by the cow disease, Brucellocis.

Meanwhile, Dairy farms in Wainivesi and Waimaro which have been confirmed to have cattle infected with the disease Brucellosis may have to remain under quarantine for up to three years as the Quarantine Department tries to eradicate the disease from the area.
