The continuous scattered reports of Leptospirosis continue to rise and the Health Ministry is once again calling on residents to seek medical help as soon as they experience any signs of the disease.
Media Officer Illiesa Tora said the 4 reported deaths were a result of people seeking help in the last minute.
It is believed that a man was air lifted over the weekend from an outer lying island as a result of Leptospirosis as he was working in close contact with animals.
Tora once again reminds the public that the disease can be transmitted to those who work around animals and is even transmitted by rats and said people should ensure their houses are pest free.
Meanwhile, at the moment there are 345 cases of Diarrhea reported in the West with the total for the whole country sitting at 666 people reported with Diarrhea.
